I looked over a number of sites offering them, updated my Windows Media Player, also Intervideo WinDVD, then tried to read a DVD movie on my drive. Same result, "insert drive" when there's one in the drive, double clicking the drive on My Computer only causes endless loop, as if it was trying to read but can't.

What program are you using to play a DVD, Media Center, Media Player, or other DVD player software? If not using Media Center to play a DVD I suggest I have Vista Home Premium 64 bit. One thing I noticed is that I have picture but no sound when playing a movie DVD. When I play a music CD sound works normally.
