The fact is there are alot of people that dont want to jump to DVD and therefore buy the VHS boxsets, and if you were in the UK, you would probably more tempted to buy them to, they do look really nice you know :-). I would buy them if I didn't have a DVD player and didn't forsee getting one.

Plastics can always be scratched, and there isn't really anything more suitable for DVDs and CDs than polycarbonate. Actually as I said LEXAN. And that's just one superior plastic, one I might ad that is nearly 40 years old. A superior plastic for magnetic tape, but what about optical discs?

DVD playback in Windows Medial Player or Media Center will only play in interlaced mode making it VERY ugly. If I replace the MPEG-2 DVD codec with K-Lite .... be surprised there're some PNGs it can't handle. But I am surprised it's another MS tool, one that's also included in Vista no less, that creates such PNGs.
